Have you heard of TOMS shoes? This company is a giant pile of awesome. The basic premise is that you buy a pair of their shoes, and they’ll donate a pair to a child in need. And now they have a line for brides.

Now admittedly, these shoes are not as stylish as a pair of Manolo’s. But…hello! Can you imagine how much more comfortable you’ll be dancing the night away in a pair of these? I found this in the new issue of House Beautiful and had to share. (Are you reading HB? It’s divine.)

It’s Lucite, people. I love the idea of incorporating this into a traditional wedding with modern elements. So often I run into couples with varying styles. The Bride will pick feminine floral prints and the Groom will love modern, geometric patterns. What a great way to marry (literally and figuratively) these two styles!

House Numbers for Tables

Table numbers at weddings are an often overlooked accessory, but if you really give it some thought you can come up with some fabulous options. Incorporating a house number into your table decor is one such option.

If you’re on a tight budget, consider visiting your local hardware store. Craft stores are also a good resource for wood numbers that can be finished any way you like.

Numbers can rest against a centerpiece, framed or even placed on chargers or napkins for a bold graphic pop.

Take a look at a few house numbers I spotted on the web:

Dressy dip-dye

Brides – I consider this to be one of the most perfect rehearsal dinner dresses ever assembled. Not only is it gorgeous, it’s also symbolic. I look at this and see the metamorphosis of a bride — the white slowly overtaking the saturated color. Get it? She’s colorful tonight, but the white is a reminder of what’s to come. I may be over thinking this slightly. But I still think it’s a fantastic style statement. So go get one and look fabulous and thank me later.

I specifically made a point to visit Jayson Home & Garden the last time I was in Chicago…but failed to look up the store hours, and by the time I arrived, they had closed up shop. MAJOR bummer.
