I had the pleasure of working with this wonderful couple and am so excited to be sharing some of the images from their special day!

The wedding was a mix of modern and traditional with splashes of gorgeous jewel tones and sparkle. The couple actually live in California, so they wanted to infuse desert elements throughout the stationery to get guests excited about a trip to the Valley of the Sun.

The Save the Date cards featured an abstract image of an agave plant and were printed on metallic pearl paper. The invitations (not pictured, but you can see them in my stationery portfolio) were letterpressed onto cotton paper and incorporated a pattern used throughout the wedding site.

The wedding day items also featured this pattern, but we introduced some bold colors so they wouldn’t get lost when paired with the floral and linens. I would describe the end result as bright, bold, modern and happy. Four of my most favorite adjectives!

I’ve noticed entire boards on Pinterest devoted to Chevron, so my take is that Chevron is still going strong and that’s just fine with me. (Maggie’s holiday cards were featured in my Best of 2011 post. Her family is one of the most adorable in the history of ever.)

Maggie has a big family and lots of friends with kiddos, so she had the brilliant idea of creating book tags for each child. I think this is such a fun idea! Books are treasures and should be treated as such. This is a great way to instill a sense of pride of ownership in a child’s library, don’t you think?

I was given a list names along with a few of their favorite things. You can see the end result below!

I designed these for a personal project, but I do have some left. So what I’m going to do is this: I’ll sell the remaining calendars for $8 each. Proceeds will be donated to Thirst Relief International.

The calendar measures 8×10″ and is printed on 100# Watercolor Stock.

She’s a published author! Woo hoo!

I have worked with Liene on a variety of projects in the past, but this was my first time designing a book cover. We wanted to create something that looked interesting and well-designed, but not trendy. It had to appeal to both men and women, and as she put it: “I want it to look like a book someone wouldn’t be embarrassed to be seen reading on a plane.” So that eliminated my idea of incorporating the color pink, butterflies and any sexual euphemisms/scantily clad heroines. Hee hee. Kidding.

So here’s the end result. What do you think?

A new desktop wallpaper design is now available for the month of Red, White & Blue! I got some great comments and feedback from the first edition, so I’ve made a few tweaks for you wallpaper aficionados.

This month the calendar has been moved to the right side of the screen. You’ll also have the option to download the wallpaper sans calendar if you’d prefer to see the pattern in all its glory.

This is an ongoing project, so check back every month for a new design. And as always, keep the comments and feedback coming! I can’t answer each email I receive, but I do read them all and make notes for future designs. Enjoy!
