Hey all, my apologies for the blog “sabbatical”. It turns out Kelly Ashworth Design is expanding! And no, I’m not hiring interns and I’m not opening a new office in an exotic location. (Although, one day that would be fab!) I’m actually expecting Kelly Ashworth Design, Jr. He or she is due in October.

I have been really busy on the client end, but I’ve also been busy trying not to feel sick. It seems I have passed that stage (FINALLY) but now I realize I have neglected one of my most important business tools – my blog.

So just a quick note to say, sorry for the lag. I hope you’ll continue to read. Thanks, and you rock.

Now, for the fun stuff:I am having a lemon moment. It’s a craving, actually. I should really just consume lemonade via IV drip. So when I saw these in the new Real Simple, I really thought I should share. Lemon-flavored candy sugar straws. Edible. I could conceivably make my lemonade even more lemony. This project has been a labor of love for quite some time, and I’m excited to say it’s finally up and running.I like to think of this as a living, breathing organism. Constantly changing, growing and expanding. You’ll have the opportunity to browse through my portfolio as well as check in to see what I’m up to on a day-to-day basis.

Kelly Ashworth Design Holiday Greetings are Back!

I figure since the red cups are out at Starbucks and Target is already decorated top to bottom in holiday decor, there is no better time to announce the arrival of my 2009 Holiday Greeting Cards!

I’m showing three designs below and you can also view the entire line in my Etsy shop. (And while you’re there, maybe you need a baby announcement, invitation kit or Highlight book?)

Each Holiday Greeting design can be customized with your photo and color palate. I can also customize the greeting verbiage to fit your specific needs. You’ll have your choice of three paper styles — metallic shimmer, textured linen or smooth cover– and each includes matching white envelopes with your return address pre-printed. How convenient!

Highlight Books for Everyone!

I wanted to share some recent personal projects that incorporate my fabtabulous Highlight Books. I first introduced this concept last fall and I’m so excited with the response. You met niece #1 right here. She’s growing like a weed. I put together this Highlight Book for my sister-in-law to remind her that just two short months ago, her baby girl was teeny tiny.

I made this book for my husband to commemorate our recent trip to Italy. He keeps it at his desk at work and probably dreams about amazing scenery, great wine and incredible food. At least, that’s what I do when I look at it.

You can have your very own Highlight Book for $15. Minimum order of 3 books. The process is simple: you send me your favorite high resolution photos and I do the rest.

In addition to the obvious uses (weddings, babies, travels, anniversaries, etc.) Highlight Books can also be used for fun invitations, favors and other event accessories. In the most recent issue of Bride & Bloom Magazine, my Highlight Books were featured as wedding invitations. The possibilities are endless!

Kelly Ashworth Design Photo Birth Announcements

Exciting news for moms-to-be! I just launched my new Photo Birth Announcements on my Etsy site. I currently have nothing short of 139 friends/family/colleagues who are expecting, which made this endeavor ever so fun. (And may have resulted in more than one case of baby fever.)

Each style can be customized with your choice of colors, photo and wording. The cards measure 5×7″ and include a white envelope. Return address printing is also included in the price.

I was also super lucky to have some of the most talented photographers submit their photos to use on my samples. Here’s a sneak peek:

Exciting news for DIY Brides! I have just launched a line of DIY Invitation Kits on my Etsy site! I currently have five styles of varied colors and patterns. Each kit contains enough paper, sashes, ribbon and envelopes to create 50 individual invitations. Just print, assemble and you’re golden!

In addition to printing your invitations, you’ll also have enough paper leftover to print your own RSVP postcards. Here’s a rundown of what comes in each kit:

• 50 5×7″ Invitation Backings

• 50 100% Recycled Cotton Patterned Sashes (approx. 3.5 x 11″)

• 1 Spool of Eco-Friendly Satin Ribbon

• 50 A7 Envelopes
