I realize it’s practically March and I’m just now doing a recap of 2010 projects, but I was negligent in keeping up with this last year. I’ll do better this year, promise.

Chalkbot Strikes again

You don’t have to be a cyclist to think this is freaking clever.

The chalkbot is back for the 2010 Tour de France, and you can leave your message of hope and inspiration on the LIVESTRONG website. If your message is written on the roads, you’ll get a photo of your message printed on the Tour de France with GPS coordinates.

There is a great backstory on the genesis of the chalkbot in the most recent Communication Arts Interactive Annual right here. Suck on that, cancer.

Shower Curtain Chic

Take a look at my new minor obsession:

A shower curtain festooned with grosgrain ribbon streamers? Yes, please. I first observed this marvel of shower curtain engineering in the latest issue of House Beautiful, which I decided to try out after Domino went belly up. So far I’m impressed.

Here’s hoping we can remove “financial crisis”, “economic meltdown” and “recession” from our 2009 vernacular.

The local news did a man on the street interview with a Phoenix cabbie the other day. When asked when he thought the financial crisis would be over, he replied, “probably the next 30 to 60 days.” Awesome.
